Supporter List FAQsUpdated 6 months ago
What is the supporter list?
As a thank you for being an early supporter of the book, we will print your name (or a name of your choice) in a list in the back.
This is only available to early supporters who back a project through the Unbound site.
How does it work?
If the supporter list is open, you will see a supporter name box next to the different pledge options.
The name you enter in this box will be your supporter name and will be printed in the back of the book.
Can I change my supporter name?
Yes. You can update your supporter name at any time while the supporter list is open. You can do this within your Unbound account, or alternatively you can drop us an email at [email protected] and we will update the name for you.
List closing
When the supporter list closes, we send out a last call email a few days before to remind those who haven’t backed the project that there is only a limited time left to have a supporter name included.
Supporter name check
We also email all of the supporters and ask them to check that their current supporter name is correct.
If the supporter name is incorrect and you wish to update it you can do so within your Unbound account or by contacting our support team at [email protected].
If the name is correct there is no need to do anything.
In most cases supporters are given a two-week deadline to update their supporter name. Any updates made after the deadline may not be reflected in the final supporter list.
When does the supporter list close?
The supporter list closes at pre-press, which is the point at which all the final checks and adjustments are made before a book goes to print.
If you pledge to support a book after the supporter list is closed, your name will not be printed in the back of the book.
If the supporter list is closed, you will see this reflected in the book’s status on our website.
Do I have to have a supporter name?
No. If you wish to pledge for a book while the supporter list is open but you do not wish to have your name printed, just type ‘Anonymous’ in the supporter name box.
What does the supporter list look like?
Supporter names are alphabetised by surname, then by first name. For example, ‘Amy Smith’ would appear before ‘Ben Smith’.
If you have pledged for two copies of the same title and have two supporter names, they won’t necessarily be printed together.
In general, supporter names are printed in list format, usually in 2 or 3 columns per page depending on the size and format of the book and total number of supporter names for the title.
The supporter list can vary from book to book and we cannot guarantee that they will look the same every time.
Patron Level Supporter names
Some titles have a ‘Patron’ level, which includes a supporter name being printed in the front of the book.
This is only available for selected titles and will be made clear if available on the project page.
